ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ted Faiers studied at the Art Students League of New York and taught at the Memphis College of Art for over 30 years, creating a vast number of lithographs, paintings, drawings, and woodcuts that covered numerous genres. Over the course of his career, Faiers created landscapes and still lifes, minimalist abstractions, and paintings. Faiers was influenced by Indian Space Painting, a mid-century product of American Modernism's romance with all things primitive. Faiers was born in England and grew up in Western Canada, moving to New York in his early 40’s. Faiers lived and worked in Memphis until his death in 1985.
